The Cost and Management Accountant course, offered by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI), is a professional qualification that equips individuals with in-depth knowledge of cost and management accounting principles. A. CMA Foundation Subjects

The CMA Foundation exam assesses a candidate's foundational knowledge across key areas of business. The 1st stage comprises four subjects:  

1. Fundamentals of Business Laws and Communication (FBLC)

2. Fundamentals of Financial and Cost Accounting (FFCA)

3. Fundamentals of Business Mathematics and Statistics (FBMS)

4. Fundamentals of Business Economics and Management (FBEM)

B. Eligibility

Candidates can apply for admission to the CMA course after completing their 10th standard. However, they can appear for the CMA Foundation exam only after appearing for or passing the 12th standard examination.  

C. Exam Pattern:

- The exam is entirely objective, consisting of 50 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) for each subject.

- Each MCQ carries 2 marks, resulting in a total of 100 marks per subject.

- There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.  

D. Exam Schedule: The CMA Foundation exam is conducted twice a year, typically in June and December.

Paper 1 & 2 (FBLC & FFCA): 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Paper 3 & 4 (FBMS & FBEM): 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM

CMA Foundation results normally declared within one month of examination

F. Registration Fees

- The registration fee for the CMA Foundation course is INR 6,000.

- Students from the North-Eastern States, Jammu & Kashmir, and Ladakh are eligible for a 50% exemption (Male)/100% exemption (Female) in the registration fee.
