1. (a) Define business research. Discuss the need and importance of business research.     4+12=16

(b) What is data? Mention various sources from where one can obtain secondary data. Discuss the merits and demerits of primary data.    4+6+6=16

2. (a) What is research plan? Discuss the essentials of a good research plan.    6+10=16

Or

(b) Detail out the measurement of scaling techniques.      16

3. (a) What does a measure of central tendency indicate? Discuss the important measures of central tendency pointing out the situation when one measure is considered relatively appropriate in comparison to other measures.     6+10=16

Or

(b) What is diagrammatic presentation? Give a brief description of different kinds of diagrams generally used in business research to present the data.      4+12=16

4. (a) What is time series analysis? Justify the use of time series analysis in research.     4+12=16
