2. Answer
any one out of the following questions in about 40-60 words:
(a)
Can we interact with a computer in which operating system is not installed?
Justify your answer.
Ans.:-We can, but our computer would stop
working because Windows is the operating system, the software that makes it
tick and provides a platform for programs, like our web browser, to run on.
Without an operating system our computer is just a box of bits that do not know
how to communicate with one another, or us.
(b)
How can files and folders be managed in your computer?
Ans.:- A file is a collection of numbers
which have been written to our computer’s hard drive. These numbers can be
converted into a picture, a sound, text, or a set of instructions for a program
to perform certain action. A clue to a file’s type is given by its Icon or by
its file extension. Folders are containers for anything on a computer including
files and other folders. A path list the folders that have to be opened to get
to the required file.

(a)
How can you protect your document from unauthorized access?
Ans.:- Folder Protect is a unique software
program that doesn’t only password protect your data but also let you set different
access levels for your data. You can lock, hide, block access and protect your
data from modification as well as accidental or intended unauthorized deletion.
We can customize security levels for our
data and choose between making our files inaccessible, hidden, write-protected
or delete-proof. With Folder Protect we can prevent unauthorized access to our
files and folders if we select ‘No Access’ type of security that will
completely deny access to our data. Follow these simple steps to prevent data
from unauthorized access:
Download and install it on your computer.
Run the program and it will ask you to set and confirm a password. Once you
have set and confirmed the password, click on ‘OK’ to log in to the application
and then click the ‘Add’ button to add files, folders, drives, program or
extensions. When you click on the ‘Add’ button, a wizard screen will appear
showing you two steps:
Step 1: Choose Protection Method
Step 2: Add Items you Wish to Protect.
(b)
Explain the three types of documents required in mail merge.
Ans.:- Mail Merge requires three types of
documents:
(a)
Main Document: In a Mail Merge
operation, the personalized document (such as, a standard letter, or envelope,
or mailing label) is known as the main document. Ti is the document containing
the text and graphics that stay the same for each version of the merged
document – for example, the return address and body of a form letter.
(b)
Data Source: Data source is a
file that contains the names and addresses or any other information that vary
with each version of a mail-merge document. For example, a list of names and
addresses for a form letter you want to send to a list of clients or other
people.
(c)
Merge Document: When you merge
the main document with data source, a third document called merge document will
be produced. The merge document can be merged to the screen to view letters
along with addresses, or directly to the printer to print the letters along
with addressees and print addresses on envelopes or labels, or save as some
other file that can be used later for printing. Inserting the data or
information from the datat source in the main document creates the merge
document.

Average marks in Physics = Total marks of
Physics / No. Of students
Total marks = B2+B3+B4+B5+B6+B7 i.e 493
No. Of Students = 6
Therefore average marks = 493/6 = 82.17
Average marks in Chemistry = Total marks of
Chemistry / No. Of students
Total marks = B2+B3+B4+B5+B6+B7 i.e 496
No. Of students = 6
Therefore average marks = 496/6 = 82.67
Average marks in Math = Total marks of Math/No.
of students
Total marks = B2+B3+B4+B5+B6+B7 i.e 483
No. Of students = 6
Therefore average marks = 483/6 = 80.5
